Ask for personal help in the workspace: with context and without losing your text

2 min readUpdated on

The workspace has two kinds of help. Ask searches the help guides and answers right away. That answer does not come from Laurens and changes nothing in your workspace by itself. If you are still stuck, send your question to Laurens. He answers by email within one working day.

Start with Ask on the screen itself

Tap Ask: help with this screen. At the top are questions often asked on this screen. Below them you can ask your own question. Ask knows which screen you are on. Your customers’ names and numbers are not sent.

Is your question about a job? Choose Include this job (no name or number). If the answer is not there, choose Ask Laurens and then Send to Laurens. Only that second tap sends the question, together with the name of the screen. For the steps of a job itself, see plan and complete a work order.

Describe what went wrong

A good help question describes the screen, what you did, what you expected and what happened. Copy the exact error message and say whether your input stayed on the screen.

  • Screen: for example Today or Reviews.
  • What you did: the last button you tapped.
  • What happened: the exact message, and roughly when.
  • Do not put passwords, payment details or codes in your question.

Send your question through Help

Open Help and, under Ask your question, fill in a Subject and your description under How can we help? Choose Send your question. Only when We’ve got your question appears is the question really registered. The answer comes by email to your account address, within one working day. If you cannot log in, use the contact page.

If sending does not work

If sending fails, your text stays in the form. Try again in a moment. If it still fails, email the address shown in the message. Also copy your text before you close the screen, so you do not have to type it again.

Do not send the same question several times in a row. Under Your questions you see what has already arrived.

What to expect from the help

Ask is not a chat with Laurens and not an appointment. An answer in the workspace is an explanation from the help; it changes nothing for you. A question to Laurens is not a phone appointment: he replies by email. If you want to look at something together, say so in your question.
