Why engraving works
The code never changes. That is why engraving makes sense.
Your QR is generated once and then stays fixed; what changes is the menu behind it — prices, dishes, languages. Engraving a code that expires would be a waste of wood. Engraving a permanent code is an investment you never repeat.
The same rule as in the software: the menu changes, the code does not.
